About

In the past, I felt that becoming a therapist was my destiny rather than a choice. And as time has gone on, my conviction in this belief has only grown stronger. These days, I channel my energy into helping clients who are facing similar challenges, whether it's breaking free from perfectionism or bravely navigating a major life change. It's deeply rewarding to support them on their journey towards growth and healing.

IT'S AN HONOR TO MEET YOU

I'm Lesley

At one point in my life, I used to wear anxiety like a badge of honor. "I'm just naturally anxious," I'd tell friends, colleagues, and clients. But in 2021, everything changed. When I started working with a spiritual coach, he challenged this belief and encouraged me to dig deeper into my past experiences, the ones I had overcome, and the ones I hadn't fully let go of. Through this journey of self-discovery, I came to realize that anxiety wasn't some innate aspect of my being, but rather a consequence of living life under constant pressure, rushing, and striving for an unattainable version of perfection. With this newfound clarity, I am now able to approach life with more ease and grace, free from the shackles of anxiety.

My Story

Psychology chose me, and I followed its path with unwavering dedication. After earning my BA in Psychology from San Diego State University, I pursued my MA and Doctoral Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. Early on, my clinical focus was on working with children and families, and I had plans to obtain an advanced certification in play therapy.

In 2012, I entered the world of addiction treatment and discovered the transformative power of healing within communities. Through my work with clients struggling with substance use, disordered eating, and chronic interpersonal challenges, I saw how trauma can impact the onset of symptoms. This led me to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in 2017, and today, I integrate this approach, along with Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and spirituality, into my clinical work and workshops.

Why this work matters

"When we change a narrative we change a legacy"- Coach Reggie

My life's work is dedicated to inspiring clients who are ready to address beliefs and patterns that may no longer serve them. Often, these were adaptations made in childhood to navigate a challenging environment.  But as we move into adulthood, these adaptations may no longer serve us, and it's important to recognize when it's time to let go. Whether you're struggling in your relationships, workplace, or parenting journey, I'm here to help you discover new solutions to courageously live a life with meaning and purpose.
